Snowmaggeddon

I'm sure you all heard of the D.C. Blizzard of 2010. It consisted of two separate storms about 3 days apart, and when it was all over most areas had 2 to 3 feet of snow. By the time it was all done the storm was renamed Snowverkill. It was exciting during the storms but quickly turned depressing as the snow lasted for a few weeks and driving and walking to the metro were really difficult. Now that spring is here I can actually face these photos again!

There was at least one person who was excited to see all the snow. Rafe is standing in the middle of our street here.

Our deck...

Sean spent HOURS shoveling. We have have about 5 feet of sidewalk in front of our townhouse, so you wouldn't think we had it that bad. There just wasn't anywhere to put the snow, though. Clearing off cars and making a path through the mounds the snowplow built up was tough.

Our neighbor had a party on the Saturday night when the first storm finished. At least the storm provided a ready-made cooler for our wine.

We built snow mounds and tunnels like this right in the street. No one could drive out of our street for a couple of days so it was fine for the kids to play there.
