Dragons

Dragons such as these mark all the entrances to London. I think the dragons were Sean's favorite site in the city. They are a definite improvement over what they used to do hundreds of years ago -- cut off people's heads and put them on spikes in front of the city to deter any troublemakers from coming in. London is the smallest capital city at just one square mile.

One thing we enjoyed about the city is how walkable it is. Rafe was quite the trooper as we drug him all over the city, even during his naptime. He learned to fall asleep anywhere -- on double decker buses, at pubs where we stopped for lunch, etc. One day he was riding on Sean's shoulders as we explored the city, and I looked over to see his little head was resting on top of Sean's head and he had fallen asleep (a great picture opportunity, I know, but we didn't get it). We popped into a Starbuck's (yes, they are everywhere) to let him finish his nap a little more comfortably (and to save Sean's back).

You can also see Rafe holding his prize possession from the trip -- a double decker bus. It is his new favorite toy at home along with a black taxicab that resembles what they use in London.
