Rafe and I had a great trip to Iowa over the week of July 4th. We spent most of our time in Iowa City. My sister Amy had a 4th of July barbecue (you can see Rafe jumping into her kiddie pool). The next photo shows Rafe and my niece Taylor patiently waiting for the Coralville 4th of July parade to start. Rafe collected more candy from people on the floats than he did last Halloween! One day Rafe and Taylor played in the fountain in downtown Iowa City (3rd pic). Finally you can see Amy's husband Brian and their twins Carver and Kinnick in the last photo. Rafe really wanted to see a deer while he was in Iowa. He got his wish on our last day in Iowa City. We were exploring the Coralville Lake area and a deer ran right in front of us on the road. Much to Sean's dismay (White Sox fan), Grandpa Jeff taught Rafe to root for the Cubs the week we were home. It involved lots of pounding the counter when the game was on and yelling, "Go Cubbies!"
